A CWTA Public Forum:
Advanced Wireless Services Spectrum Auction
When:
Monday, April 23, 2007
8.30am to 5pm
Where:
Fairmont Château Laurier
1 Rideau Street
Ottawa, Ontario
www.chateaulaurier.com
What:
Industry Canada is in process of a public consultation on a framework to auction spectrum in the 2-GHz range, including spectrum for advanced wireless services (AWS). The consultation is the first step in a process leading to an auction of spectrum licences, anticipated to occur in early 2008. A total of 105 MHz of spectrum will be made available.
CWTA will host a one-day seminar in Ottawa to provide a forum for Industry Canada officials to provide information about the auction consultation and hear reactions from wireless industry participants, as well as to allow technology providers to outline their vision of the technologies and services that could be realized utilizing the new spectrum. The forum will also hear from financial analysts about their views on the investment angle, and industry analysts and other experts will debate such topics as pricing, wireless penetration and possible terms and conditions of the upcoming auction.
Registration:
Seating is limited. There is no fee to attend the forum, but pre-registration is mandatory and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registrations will be accepted until close of business on Wednesday, April 18, or until event capacity has been reached. No on-site registration will be available.
Click here to submit registration information. Confirmation of registration will be sent within 48 hours pending seating availability.
