The Association intervenes in key regulatory and public policy issues before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), as the Commission continues moving toward a more competitive and ultimately a less regulated environment. CWTA’s role is to coordinate member position on CRTC policy and regulatory issues and where possible develop consensus documents in response to CRTC initiatives. The Association also intervenes on behalf of its members on tariff issues affecting cellular, paging, mobile radio and mobile satellite services.
